      • THE EARLY YEARS

Johnny started riding motorcycles at the age of four, and quickly progressed into minimotos in both the British & European Championships, becoming runner-up twice in the British Championship, before finally winning the title in 2019.

He then stepped up to race the larger ‘mini GP’ bikes, before getting onto a Honda 250cc ‘Talent Cup’ specification machine in 2020, these bikes being used in many ‘Road to MotoGP’ programmes

Johnny took to racing these bikes very quickly, in the 2021 season he recorded no fewer than five race victories in the British Championship. He knew what it took to stand on the top step of the podium, those race wins providing the motivation needed going into the following season, with the goal of becoming Champion. He also gained invaluable experience throughout the season by competing in the European Talent Cup, racing against some of the best up and coming young riders in the World.

        2022 British Champion

The fourteen year old from Ilfracombe in Devon totally dominated the Honda British Talent Cup in 2022, winning twelve races on his way to the Championship, including taking the top step of the podium at the prestigious MotoGP support round at Silverstone.

      • BSN Junior Rider of 2022

To round off a fantastic season on-track, Johnny was overwhelmingly voted ‘BSN Junior Rider of 2022’ beating some very talented riders to win this prestigious award.

        Dorna support, 2023 & beyond

His winning performances have caught the eye of many, not least Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder for MotoGP who have invested in his exceptional ability and potential by including him on their ‘Road to MotoGP’ programme for the European Talent Cup in 2023

The ultimate plan is for Johnny to be racing full Grand Prix bikes – with the 2023 season being the next step on this exciting journey.

This season will see him remain with Michael Laverty’s VisionTrack Racing & MLAV Academy, not only to defend his British title but to again compete on the international stage in the FIM European Talent Cup racing several rounds in Spain & Portugal, further learning his craft on the global arena where he will be racing in future years.
